Brian Carroll (NPP/USRA)

Title: NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) Fellow

Technical Focus Area: Lidar Science, Airborne Science

Study Topics: Water vapor and cloud processes, atmospheric circulations, aerosol remote sensing, lidar data processing and engineering, remote sensing

He began his fellowship July 2020.

Mission/Project: HALO

About:

Brian built a strong and broad background in atmospheric lidar and research applications during his Atmospheric Physics PhD work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He graduated in June 2020 and began a NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) fellowship with the HALO team at NASA LaRC, where he is now working on improvements to data processing and conducting research that leverages the water vapor DIAL and HSRL measurements. Current and past interests include a wide range of water vapor and cloud process studies, aerosols and air quality, and all things lidar and remote sensing.
