Chris Yost (SSAI)
Title: Senior Research Scientist
Technical Focus Area: Climate Science
Mission/Project: CERES Cloud Working Group
Study Topics: cloud remote sensing
Christopher R. Yost received a B.S. degree in meteorology and a M.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, in 2004 and 2006, respectively. He is currently a Senior Research Scientist with Science Systems and Applications, Inc., in Hampton, VA, where he supports weather and climate studies at the National Aeronautical and Space Administration Langley Research Center. He supports the Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System (CERES) Cloud Retrieval Working Group in the development and validation of algorithms which estimate cloud physical and microphysical properties from multispectral satellite measurements. He also provided on-site support for the NASA High Ice Water Content field campaigns and developed algorithms which use multispectral satellite imagery to identify conditions which potentially pose an icing threat to aircraft.
